What’s New in Year Two for the 2017 Honda HR-V

2017-honda-hr-v

“Hey, 2017 Honda HR-V! What’s New?”

“Not a whole lot,” the best-selling subcompact said, grinding dirt into the ground with the sole of its…tire.

While it may feel like we’re knocking the 2017 Honda HR-V, we promise we’re not. What can be misconstrued as a negative—no enormously game-changing additions to this, the HR-V’s sophomore-year model—is really a positive. Instead of adding superfluous gizmos and unnecessary accessories to its fan-favorite SUV, Honda engineers created a more refined, sophisticated, and mature crossover. And it’s all the better for it.

Here’s why we think you’ll find true romance with the newest Honda HR-V, which is now available around the country and at our car dealership in Naples, FL. Continue reading “What’s New in Year Two for the 2017 Honda HR-V”

2017 Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry: Winner Takes All

Across the board, the 2017 Honda Accord cannot be ignored. Available in five trims (the base LX, Sport, Sport SE, EX, and EX-L) and as a two-door coupe, it remains Honda’s most polished package thanks to impressive fuel-efficiency numbers, a spacious interior, and incomparable ride quality. Still, everyone has their rivals, and the Accord is no different.

The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid: Honda’s Visionary New Sedan

Like Michael Jordan in 1993, the Honda Accord Hybrid unlaced its shoes after its 2015 model year and exited the arena, disappointing many of us at Germain Honda of Naples. Now, just a year removed from the hybrid game, the Accord Hybrid is ready to make its glorious return to the court. Boasting a more compact battery, upgraded styling, and improved fuel efficiency, the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid certainly looks capable of mirroring His Airness’s post-retirement (and un-retirement) success by setting a new benchmark for eco-friendly vehicles in its segment.

Slotted to be one of the first 2017 Honda models to hit the market here in the Fort Myers area, the four-door hybrid will be available for purchase from Germain Honda of Naples later this season. Continue reading below for more information about the updated midsize sedan, or call our sales team at 877-813-2502 to discuss availability, prices, and set up a test drive at our Honda dealership near Ft. Myers.

The Accord Hybrid Proves that Two Heads are Better than One

Most noticeable on this new Accord Hybrid is the integration of a lighter, more compact lithium-ion battery pack and an updated two-motor hybrid system.

Let’s begin with the battery. Slightly less bulky than previous models—Honda’s claims that the packs are 33% smaller and 13% lighter appear legit—the new battery frees up a considerable amount of space. The sedan’s engineers took full advantage of this newly found roominess by bumping trunk capacity up to a best-in-segment 13.5 cubic feet. The additional space also leads us to the car’s impressive two-motor system, effectively called the “Sport Hybrid i-MMD.” Continue reading “The 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid: Honda’s Visionary New Sedan”

Fans Rejoice: The Redesigned 2017 Honda Ridgeline Arrives

Ever since Honda stopped production of the Ridgeline in 2014, fans have been clamoring for a taste of what’s to come. Earlier this year, Honda satiated its fans’ hunger by announcing that the once-beloved truck would make a comeback in the form of its 2017 Honda Ridgeline model.

The newly redesigned 2017 Honda Ridgeline has officially made its debut, and you can find it now at Germain Honda of Naples. Check back in for more details about its release date, and schedule a test drive at our Honda dealership near Fort Myers by calling us at 877-813-2502.

What’s New with the 2017 Honda Ridgeline?

Postponing production in 2014, Honda engineers went back to the drawing board with the Ridgeline, keeping in mind both Ridgeline fans’ pros and its detractors’ cons.

The 2017 model now boasts a slimmer silhouette, more versatile truck bed and seating arrangements, and a modernized unibody frame. By refining the vehicle from scratch, the company’s engineers crafted a Honda pickup with all the modern flourishes one could ask for. In doing so, the Ridgeline is primed to stand toe-to-toe with its light-duty and mid-size competitors. Continue reading “Fans Rejoice: The Redesigned 2017 Honda Ridgeline Arrives”

2016 Honda Civic Named North American Car of the Year

The ballots were cast at this year’s 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, with the brand-new and stunningly reimagined 2016 Honda Civic taking top honors as the newly named “2016 North American Car of the Year.”

2016 North American Car of the Year

The Undisputed Winner

All eyes were on Detroit as more than 5,000 journalists from 60 countries gathered for what is one of the most prestigious and influential automotive exhibitions in the world. A select group of 50 automotive journalists was involved in voting for the much popular North American Car of the Year Award.

According to the NAIAS, “The awards are designed to recognize the most outstanding new vehicles of the year. These vehicles are benchmarks in their segments based on factors including innovation, comfort, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value for the dollar.” Finalists for one of the most prestigious awards in the automotive industry included the Chevy Malibu and Mazda MX-5 Miata. The new Civic won hands-down with a score of 203 points, followed by the Malibu with 181 points, and the Miata with 146 points.

New Turbocharged Engine

What were some of the reasons why the all-new 2016 Honda Civic took away the top honors at this year’s Detroit show? First off is the Civic’s new direct-injection 1.5-liter turbocharged i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine that delivers a spirited 174 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque. Significantly, this is the first turbocharged engine to be offered by Honda in the U.S. market.

Exceptional Fuel Economy

The turbo four is designed for high cruise efficiency and robust performance. The Civic’s advanced Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with EcoAssist™ helps the Civic achieve an outstanding EPA-estimated 42 mpg on the highway and 31 mpg in the city. The new Civic puts some spirited fun in your daily drive with a sports-tuned chassis and suspension that delivers nimble handling and a smoother ride. This is one Civic you won’t mind taking out for a spin just for the fun of it.

Sporty Contemporary Styling

Another reason the Civic ran away with this year’s North American Car of the Year Award is its eye-catching styling. The Civic’s swept, “coupe-like” silhouette flows in one graceful arc from the sloping hood back through the rear deck. The Civic’s dramatic new front end features dazzling new available LED headlights accented by LED daytime running lights. Available fog lights set into the lower fascia help illuminate the road. The Civic’s signature rear end features bold, wedge-shaped taillights designed to look like the letter “C.” Speaking of bold, the Civic’s 17-inch sports alloy wheels really make a statement.
